Repurposed.

in house stuff,Random Grumbles

Some time ago, I received a flower arrangement – likely from Irene (AKA Awesome Bosslady) – and after we’d enjoyed the bouquet, I was left with this white rectangular vase, which I like very much, but since I so seldom buy myself flowers-that-require-sticking-into-vases, this idea came to me instead:

Did you know that asparagus can continue to grow after it’s been cut? Just like tulips. I trim the bottoms just a snick, put them in an inch of water, and they stay nice and crisp. And pretty! It makes me smile every time I open my fridge. That’s never a bad thing. Smiling, I mean.

I like this repurposed idea… besides, I have asparagus at home waaaaaay more often than I do fresh flowers. (Perhaps I should remedy that though… I do so love tulips, you know.)

Happy SPRING all!!

Adorable! Asparagus looks so pretty in that vase.
It’s also mucho tasty when grilled. Le sigh, I need a BBQ and some asparagus too…
