Wow..this is amazing! I've never been able to fold a fitted sheet in my life. I just ball them up and hope the wrinkles come out when I put it on the bed. Awesome!

I love that you wrote about this. Fitted sheets are such a pain to fold. I usually just do the best I can and then cram it in the closet so I don't have to look at it. I think I remember Oprah talking about how to fold them once, but I can never remember her advice.

I only wish I should have a journey to go on that would require me to learn such magnificent folding tricks. I never go anywhere – just toss some panties into a paper bag, and I'm pretty much done. Le sigh, Have you seen that crazy Japanese t-shirt folding technique? It's quite rad.

I agree that we should all learn these things before leaving home, but if you had a mother like mine, you'd know why I FAILED at this so miserably at first – she's useless at this stuff. Well, she's just gots other kinds of skillz, bless her.

I thought you were setting us up for a joke; that you were mad enough at fitted sheets to show us how to fold them up precisely and then set them on fire in the back alley ... with a little kerosene.

My system also works. I leave the crumpled fitted sheets in the the clean laundry basket for a month or more, until I need one. The wrinkles come out after a few days of use.

My grandmother often packed for long sea voyages to Africa or India with her kids and her Army officer husband. She once showed me how to fold a man's suit and pack it in a trunk so that it would not wrinkle. I wish I'd paid attention. When I fly I have to take one of those clumsy suit bags that hang on a hook.

I do remember that one starts by turning the suit jacket inside out at the shoulders. After that I am lost.
