Today I had about 45 minutes to spare before heading back to the house to give the Small One lunch and a nap, so we arranged to meet some friends in the park for some time on the swings and in the sand… but I spent 20 minutes retracing my steps once I noticed said Small One had flung her hat someplace without my noticing.
Naughty baby.
Besides the fact that it’s her ONLY summer hat, it’s a very charming chapeau, and I hate to lose it. Chin straps, though totally effective, to me just look entirely too gay for my liking. I cut them off all the baby hats we’ve had. My kids just learn to keep them on, eventually.
But I swear, I’m going to start traveling with my stapler if she continues to be this uncooperative.
